Intervention Training

What is an addiction? An addiction is an ongoing involvement in a repeated behaviour that creates negative consequences. It is emotionally painful to have an addiction. People that are actively addicted tend to feel negatively about themselves. They deal with their emotional pain by denying or minimizing the seriousness of their situation. The challenge for those concerned about the addict is to learn how to help the addict break through their denial and see the reality of their disease.
Individual and group intervention training sessions are offered to family members, friends and associates who seek to assist the addicted person in breaking the destructive cycle of dependency. By learning to work as a "caring, united front," they can effectively encourage the addicted person to seek help.
